Most of our jewelry is made from surgical steel, also known as 316L, one of the most durable and long-lasting materials available. The production of 316L adheres to the EU’s strict environmental protection laws and regulations, making it an eco-friendly choice. Additionally, the material is 100% recyclable, and the production process generates minimal waste, contributing to a more sustainable manufacturing process.
316L steel is an alloy composed of iron, chromium, carbon, and small amounts of nickel and molybdenum. Nickel is added to provide the jewelry with its shiny surface and is so firmly bonded in the material that our jewelry is completely nickel-safe. This means that it is safe for the skin and complies with the EU REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, which ensures that the material does not cause allergic reactions or skin irritation.
Steel is an extremely durable and resistant material. It is highly resistant to scratches and discoloration, making it superior to many other jewelry materials such as sterling silver, brass, and gold. As a result, our jewelry maintains its shine and beauty even after prolonged use, requiring minimal maintenance to keep it in top condition.
We work with reliable and experienced producers who use steel from certified sources, including China, where the material is produced under strictly controlled and eco-friendly conditions. This plating consists of 58.5% pure gold, with the rest being a mixture of silver and copper, resulting in a beautiful and durable outcome. The method we use to apply the gold plating is PVD, or Physical Vapor Deposition. This technique involves vaporizing one or more substances and then condensing them onto the jewelry's surface, usually stainless steel. An electrical voltage is used to transport the vapor to the surface where it will bond, and the entire process takes place in a vacuum chamber. This makes the plating highly durable and far more resistant to scratches and wear compared to traditional plating techniques.
PVD plating also gives the jewelry a beautiful, mirror-like finish that retains its luster over time. A major advantage of this method is that it makes the jewelry much easier to clean and maintain.
